Meet Our Founder
Sushmeetha Morugan
Sushmeetha Morugan is a passionate changemaker dedicated to uplifting women through skill-based empowerment. With over 15 years of experience in corporate training, beauty entrepreneurship, and women-focused initiatives, she believes that every woman—regardless of education level—deserves the opportunity to rise. Her journey began as a journalist and TV presenter, producing over 1,000 talk show episodes, but her true calling emerged through training and community development.
Through her company, Arena Eduinfo (HRDcorp-registered), Sushmeetha began empowering rural women, single mothers, and those without formal education by equipping them with practical skills that lead to financial independence. In 2016, she secured her first HRDcorp grant to train women in SFX makeup—offering not just knowledge, but dignity and opportunity. Her vision expanded with the founding of SHINE, an NGO committed to transforming lives through sustainable skill development, education, and hope. She continues to champion the belief that skills, not circumstances, define a woman’s future.

Digital Transformation Catalyst
As the Digital Transformation Catalyst at SHINE, Suzan is passionately committed to bridging the digital divide for marginalized women. With years of experience in strategic training, tech-driven coaching, and corporate empowerment, she develops digital tools, visibility strategies, and scalable growth frameworks designed specifically for women-led micro-businesses. Suzan works closely with communities to ensure that women gain the digital literacy and confidence needed to succeed in today’s fast-evolving economy. Her mission is rooted in lasting impact —empowering women to harness technology and shape their own success.

Sustainability Strategies Catalyst
As SHINE’s Sustainability Strategies Catalyst, Salinee Ganeson is a visionary trainer, coach, and advocate for sustainable development. With a deep commitment to empowering women, she has guided over 1,000 women through entrepreneurship coaching, helping them turn passion into purpose and income. A strong believer in the power of ESG and SDG principles, Salinee leads SHINE’s mission to promote circular economy and sustainable livelihoods. Her journey with ReSari further reflects her dedication to creating impactful change — stitching together opportunity, independence, and leadership for women, one life at a time.
Mary Malar
Strategic Partnership Catalyst
Mary Malar brings extensive experience in the NGO sector and has worked closely with government agencies on funding, grants, and strategic initiatives. As SHINE’s Strategic Partnership Catalyst, she plays a vital role in building strong collaborations that support the organisation’s goals and mission. With her wide network, deep knowledge of community development, and unwavering passion for empowering women, Mary ensures SHINE remains connected to key resources, impactful programs, and long-term opportunities — translating vision into meaningful action and helping the organisation grow with purpose and sustainability.
Sheva Shakthee Morugan
Artistry Empowerment Catalyst
Sheva Shakthee is SHINE’s creative soul — a visionary who sees art in everything. As the Artistry Empowerment Catalyst, she brings boundless imagination and skill to every project, from floral arrangements, tray décor to tailoring and handmade crafts. Known for her ability to transform simple ideas into stunning expressions, Sheva inspires women to explore their creativity as a path to self-worth, healing, and income generation. With her, creativity isn’t just taught — it’s awakened, nurtured, celebrated, and transformed into meaningful opportunities for women to learn and grow.
Latha Laxme Gengatharan
Skill Development Catalyst
Latha Laxme brings a rare and radiant blend of tradition and creativity to SHINE. As a Skill Development Catalyst, she empowers women through her deep knowledge in confinement care, baby wellness, and the expressive world of SFX makeup. With flair in both nurturing and artistic domains, Latha’s cheerful and compassionate nature makes her a beloved mentor. She believes in equipping women with practical, income-generating skills that also honour their identity and passion — transforming everyday talents into sustainable livelihoods and empowering women with lifelong confidence and independence.
Anitha Ralf Kohlstrunk
Neurodiverse Family Support Catalyst
Anitha Ralf brings deep compassion and expertise to SHINE, supporting mothers raising children with special needs. With a strong background in English language and speech therapy in Hong Kong, she understands the unique challenges neurodiverse families face. As SHINE’s Neurodiverse Family Support Catalyst, Anitha empowers mothers with emotional support, practical guidance, and pathways to income despite caregiving demands — ensuring they don’t feel left behind but instead, embraced, heard, and empowered to thrive.
